Homemade Skincare Recipes - Tips And Tricks
The world is facing something unprecedented, but the world continues to turn, and seasons continue to change, which in turn continues to have an effect on our skin. With many of us working from home and not daring to step out for our regular face care regimes, we’re sure many of you have just one question. What is a good skin care routine we can do at home?
With winter winds also comes the same winter skin question – what is the best skin care routine for dry skin? And the answer is often very interesting, because honestly, some of the best facial products can be found right in your own home. Coupled with some of the best skincare routines outlined below, you’re all set for face care tips to turn up your glam within the comfort of your own home.
Traditionally of Indian origin, these homemade skincare recipes, tips and tricks have a global appeal. Turmeric is a key ingredient in many beauty products because of the active essence Curcumin. Curcumin has been shown to have strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and has been found to effectively remove the free radicals that adversely affect skin health. Curcumin has also been found to enhance collagen production and plays a key role in keeping your skin supple and glowing. Combined with a bit of gram flour, it’s just the thing for clean and bright skin.
Combine about half, to one teaspoon of good quality turmeric powder with about four teaspoons of gram flour, mix them in a neutral medium like milk or water, enough to make a paste. Apply this paste to your face and neck, leave it on for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Rinse with plain water and see the magic after a few weeks. Do this once or twice a week for maximum effectiveness.
Coconut oil is also an elemental ingredient in many skincare products and its effectiveness speaks for itself. It’s the best remedy for dry and cold skin, especially in winters, as it locks the moisture in your skin and nourishes it with essential fatty acids that provides some much needed moisture and nutrition to the skin cells. Coconut oil also provides a degree of protection against UV radiation which is essential to keep your skin looking young, healthy and glowing. All you need is some virgin coconut oil, warm it up slightly for easier application and gently apply it to your face and neck in a circular motion. Ideally you should do this at night, so that it does its job overnight.
Did you know lemon is also an effective ingredient for good skin health? Lemon contains vitamin c which works as a gentle bleaching agent and helps in removing dark spots and tan, helping it look brighter and more radiant. Lemon, combined with some sugar, which provides a form of exfoliation, is one of the best face care routines you can do at home. All you need is about two teaspoons of lemon juice and two teaspoons of sugar, mix the ingredients and apply. Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for about ten minutes. Rinse with some warm water and clean your face with a clean cloth for beautiful glowing skin.
And that’s it! There are multiple things you can use in the comfort of your own home for healthy glowing skin but we thought these three would be the easiest for you and we hope it answers your ‘how can I take care of my face skin’ question this winter!
